KNDWPN Represented at CEDAW and UPR Proceedings in Geneva, Switzerland
The Kenya National Deaf Women and Persons with Disabilities Network (KNDWPN) is represented at the ongoing international human rights proceedings in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR). KNDWPN joins other Kenyan disability rights organizations participating in these important processes, including United Disabled Persons of Kenya (UDPK), Women Challenged to Challenge (WCC), and the Network of Women and Girls with Disabilities. The participation of these organizations provides an important opportunity to bring the experiences, priorities, and concerns of women and girls with disabilities in Kenya to international human rights platforms. It also strengthens advocacy for greater accountability and meaningful implementation of commitments relating to gender equality, disability rights, accessibility, and inclusion.
